Privacy
Privacy now there's a word for ya.
privacy /, / n.from:  Concise Oxford Dictionary
1 a the state of being private and undisturbed. b a person's right to this.
2 freedom from intrusion or public attention.
3 avoidance of publicity.
As defined by the Concise Oxford Dictionary, a link to which can be found in the Credits page.
Well now we know what the word
'Privacy' means, maybe we should inform the webmasters of some of the most popular websites about our enlightenment? Because occasionally it does appear as though quite a few of them: are not quite sure about this definition of the word.

On certain occasions, there is no doubt some of your personal data is required by the websites you visit and use regularly, otherwise they may not be able to offer the service you want. However though it is the actual extent of the data requested that is the real issue. All you can do is to assess each situation as it arises and then ask yourself, do they really need all of this detail? If not use another service.

Here at www.uFindX.co.uk at present you will not be asked for any of your personal details in any way or form. However though, in the future this may change, if it does you can be self-assured that it will be a minimal request for the situation at hand and no more than required to do the job. Also it will be an absolute certainty no information would be passed on for the marketing and profiling purposes of other companies. For more information about privacy visit
Privacy International  especially if you believe your privacy has been breached in any way.

With the rapid growth and increasing popularity of the Internet, various governments around the world are introducing or upgrading their existing privacy laws. Many of these laws are related to and are concerned with, a growing number of internet domains acting as data-collection zones for commercial enterprises. Their main method of specific data collection is instigated by the use of cookies. An integral part of your personal privacy could be enormously influenced and possibly infringed by the deployment of these cookies.

Initially cookies were first introduced to help speed up the loading of a page, this was the universal reason given at that time, for their use. However since the introduction of broadband with faster connection speeds, plus the availability of more efficient software. Surely now that argument doesn't stand up any more, they should now be deemed obsolete to that cause. In actual fact the opposite is happening, more and more websites are using more and more cookies. As an example, a site we checked for inclusion amongst the links put up here (these links will be refined eventually), tried to load well over 130 cookies on our machine. By any stretch of one's mental faculty, common sense shouts whoa to many. Can you imagine visiting ten similar site's with the same inept policy, for a couple of hours surfing you would accumulate close on 1500 cookies, for what reason? For more information visit
 About Cookies.

It has to said that not all cookies are bad cookies, but they all have the potential to be bad. A great deal of the time all they do is to help and assist a free-flowing surfing experience. But increasingly the sheer quantity being administered is becoming a menace in it's own right. Couple this fact with the more sinister one's, the problem could become huge.

Here at www.uFindX.co.uk at present cookies are not used in any way or form by us at all. However just recently it was noticed that a very well known domain had attached a cookie to one of our files. All we did was to remove that file from the server and the same action will be taken in the future should it occur again. But the principle of an outsider covertly tagging one of our files seems to be wrong somehow.

As already mentioned, at present cookies are not instigated by www.uFindX.co.uk. However eventually we would like to make the site more interactive for visitors. When that time arrives you can be self-assured once again; it will be done with the utmost integrity and will not infringe upon any of your personal privacy rights. If cookies are to be utilized in the future, they will not contain any identifiable personal data nor will they covertly track the user's activity away from this site.

One last thing to mention at present, is the fact that most ISP Servers implement, administer and save visitor logs. These visitor logs are usually a matter of precaution against any unsavoury behaviour of malicious ****holes. The information contained within these logs can be of various types; i.e. IP address, date/time stamp, ISP, referring/exit pages, platform type, browser type and more. None of this information should be relational to a user's Personal Identification if the logs are handled responsibly by the administrator. If you are in any doubt view the websites Privacy Policy or contact the webmaster directly. Short of that use another website service, there are plenty out there.

Our motto will always be.
...no tracking, no logging, no profiling...your privacy is paramount.
